The Chisholms have committed to regenerative farming practices, eliminating the herbicide glyphosate, cultivating heritage grains, and milling those same grains on their farm. Since they got the call asking if they wanted to plant some extra einkorn, an ancient grain often called “the original wheat,” their soil, and their farm has transformed. 

“We are just a family farm working at preserving our livelihood that is built on a love for good tasting food and creating memories with our family on the farm or around the table,” reflects Tina of Backstreet Market in Gibbon. “We want people to have a great experience eating together. We are so lucky that our products have a place on our neighbors’ tables. That personal connection keeps us going and makes all the work worthwhile.”

Sunset Creek Farms of Albany, Minnesota grows, cleans, and mills grows organic grains to produce a cleaner flour. Enjoy it at home through their convenient and tasty waffle, pancake, cookie, and muffin mixes.

Larry started with two colonies and extracted 30 pounds of honey. “I got stung a lot that first year,” he said with a laugh. The next year he took a course through the University of Minnesota and bought a bee suit.
