Are you planting a garden this year?

We have moved to a lot of perennial native plants for our flower beds. For our veggie box, I like to try something new each year.

This season I have a custom seed packet from Superior Seed Company in my garden.

Jen and Eric are the avid gardeners behind Superior Seed Company, a husband-wife small business based in Hermantown.

Their garden kits set you up with a garden in an envelope. Curated by an experienced mixologist and enthusiastic home cooks, you’ll find unique herbs and vegetables in each of their collections.

Each garden kit contains five seeds of ten distinct plant varieties. Each grouping of seeds is packed within a clearly-labeled envelope designed for an 8 by 4 foot garden box or for container gardening.

These kits are beginner-garden friendly with unique varieties that will intrigue experienced gardeners.

Collections include The Spice Rack, The Sunflower Sunrise, The Fall Harvest, and The Flower Bouquet. Jen and Eric shared The Cocktail Creator with me, an item that was featured in the 2023 MTMM Holiday Gift Guide.

My ten varieties include lemon cucumbers, cinnamon basil, and orchid cream nasturtiums. Most of these varieties can be seeded directly in the garden.

Visit superiorseedcompany.com to view their full menu. Don’t miss their Garden Grams—punny cards packed with five seeds. These little cards would be a perfect addition for Father’s Day or Graduation gifts. Jen and Eric will even mail them directly to your recipient.

We put our seeds in the ground last weekend. I’m eagerly on sprout watch now.
