Theresa’s favorite part of farming with Icelandic sheep is the wool itself. “I love taking wool as a raw product and turning it into something that people can use to make long-lasting garments,” she shares. “I also love that I can share the skills I have learned and teach others to participate in this same art.”
Theresa’s journey into milling was a happy accident. “My greatest surprise was that I could spin wool! I didn’t start off as a fiber artist at all. I needed to find ways to use my wool and a spinning wheel found its way into my life,” reflects Theresa. “The rest is history!”
Being able to raise open grazing animals and process her wool on site to supply Minnesotans with local fiber and grass fed meat is her goal. This supports local regenerative agriculture, local supply chains, and local jobs.
