Grateful to have spent the morning on KSTP’s @minn Grateful to have spent the morning on KSTP’s @minnesotalivetv sharing about the Meet the Minnesota Makers “Shop Minnesota” guide as a tool for people to participate in February’s “Shop Local, Stand Together” campaign.

Megan noted that small businesses throughout the state have been “feeling the pinch both due to the cold winter months and due to federal immigration operations that have been effecting customers and employees alike.”

Chris mentioned that any time we want to stop by to share about Minnesota businesses like these, he’s ready and willing to sample, sip and learn.

We highlighted five truly Minnesotan businesses that are deeply invested in their communities.

A few highlights from the piece:

Enjoying the hospitality ritual of Somali tea with cups of Shaah from @bluehorntea (shout out to @autumnwoodfarmllc for having the best half and half to blend with the spiced tea)

Learning how @cooltrashusa turns plastic trash into treasure through the Precious Plastic Project to make unique upcycled buttons

Appreciating how @dine4dinners turns deluxe in-home restaurant experiences into a vehicle for donating thousands of meals through hunger relief organizations

Getting ready for spring planting with organic ethnically-diverse seeds from @north_circle_seeds (or enjoying their popcorn and hot sauce for those lacking green thumbs)

Sampling chocolate whiskey and tres leches cakes from @x2pastries_stp while sharing about Xiong and Xiong’s journey from cottage bakers to retail bakery owners in Saint Paul
